Kind Lending Branch Manager Supports Local Youth Baseball Team’s Journey to Cooperstown

That’s why we’re excited to share an incredible initiative led by one of our Branch Managers, Bill Wallace, who is helping a local youth baseball team, the Yard Dawgs, achieve a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: competing in the prestigious Cooperstown Dream Park tournament in Cooperstown, NY.

A Dream Opportunity for Young Athletes

The Cooperstown Dream Park tournament is a national event where young baseball players from around the country come together to compete on a grand stage. It’s considered one of the ultimate milestones for 12U players, a chance to showcase their skills and build lasting memories. For many of the players, this tournament represents the pinnacle of their youth sports careers.

However, attending Cooperstown comes with significant financial challenges. Entry fees, travel expenses, lodging, and special uniforms all add up to thousands of dollars per player, and for many families, these costs are prohibitive. That’s where Bill Wallace and Kind Lending come in.

Bill Wallace: A Coach and a Community Advocate

As a parent and coach, Bill Wallace knows the importance of giving kids every opportunity to succeed—both on and off the field. “Baseball teaches invaluable life lessons-teamwork, resilience, and how to navigate both success and failure,” says Bill. “I want to give these kids the chance to experience those lessons on the national stage and make memories that will last a lifetime.”

Bill, who is also a coach in town and a parent of a Yard Dawgs player, has set up a fundraising campaign to raise $10,000 to help cover the costs of travel, lodging, and uniforms for the players. “Cooperstown is a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Bill explains. “I want to ensure that every player on our team has the chance to participate, but for many families, the financial burden can make it feel out of reach.”
